Fabio Wardley Talks Usyk After Defeating Joseph Parker

Fabio Wardley had the biggest victory of his professional boxing career and his life at the weekend with a TKO victory over Joseph Parker.

30-year-old Wardley of the UK only started boxing at the age of 20 and took out Parker, a man in form near the top of the heavyweight division, in round 11.

Despite the ups and downs of the fight and some thinking it was stopped early, it was a huge win for him.

So much so he’s now in line to maybe fight for the undisputed heavyweight championship next year against champion Oleksandr Usyk.

Speaking to Sky Sports Wardley said of Usyk:

“Hope he’s (Usyk) a man of his word. The WBO mandated it, and his team said they’d take the winner. Hoping for 2026. His skill is undeniable, but I have self-belief. Doesn’t matter who he is.”

Wardley in many ways is one of the most underestimated fighters not only in the heavyweight division but in all of boxing.

Commentator Teddy Atlas said before the fight Wardley could win and he got he right.

Moses Itauma and Fabio Wardley would be another excellent fight too — between two of the UK’s in form new heavyweight boxing stars as well.

The division is buzzing at the moment.

Usyk remains number one in terms of heavyweights for now.
