Erik Morales is considered one of the greatest Mexican boxers of all time and here he remembers this week meeting some other greats.
After the US, Mexico has produced the next most number of world champions in professional boxing history more than any other.
The UK, Japan and Puerto Rico closely follow them.
Morales had great battles with the likes of Marco Antonio Barrera and others over the years.
Erik Morales Remembers Meeting 3 Boxing Legends
Speaking on Instagram earlier he said of the above photo (Spanish to English translation):
“A memory with boxing legends: Roberto Durán, Julio César Chavez, Mauricio Sulaimán and yours truly. Moments that honor the history and greatness of this sport”
Mauricio Sulaimán of the WBC has lead the World Boxing Council to great heights and helped the sport of professional boxing a lot in recent years.
Particularly in the last decade.
Mexico have become very powerful in boxing over the years but much more than that now as well, in professional sport in the East and West.
It is not surprising that Mexico is still producing new world champions all the time.
It is like grass growing and night following day and the sky being blue.
Mexico just produces world champions in boxing at the highest level (professional boxing).
Recently Erik Morales went back doing some training here at age 48.
