Former light-heavyweight champion of the world Artur Beterbiev said on Instagram (Russian to English translation):
“Happy International Boxing Day!
This sport has thousands of years old. I’m just over 30 in it, which means it’s early to summarize things. We keep on working.
Congratulations to everyone in this big world: boxers, coaches, doctors, judges, promoters, organizers, journalists and fans.
I wish us strong fights, honest work and worthy victories
Happy International Boxing Day!
This sport is thousands years old. I’ve only been in it for a little over 30, which means it’s too early to draw any conclusions. Let’s keep working.
Congratulations to everyone in this big world: boxers, coaches, doctors, judges, promoters, organizers, journalists and fans.
I wish us strong fights, honest work and worthy victories.”
The sport of boxing is indeed an old one.
Maybe one of the oldest when you trace back the history of people punching each other anywhere for the first time.
As professional boxing stands today, it is in a new time however.
It is embracing all the new technology maybe more than most professional sports worldwide.
Hence why boxing is in a safe place and is doing as well as it is.
As long as the fights between the best boxers in the world fighting one another keep getting made, boxing will continue to be successful.
