Lamont Roach was meant to fight Gervonta Davis recently but the rematch is on hold now due to Davis cashing in on a windfall on Netflix against Jake Paul.
It could be an exhibition but it could be a type of hybrid professional boxing match between ‘Tank’ and Jake Paul on November 14th.
That will be confirmed shortly.
Lamont Roach’s father however has taken some time to digest the move by Davis.

Speaking to Fight Hype, Lamont Roach senior said:
“Yeah, we got the news just like everyone else, and it was very surprising, given that we thought—or should have had—that fight next. That’s the business of boxing; things like this happen, and you have to figure out what to do next. It’s unusual because we had an agreement. We’ll see how it plays out.”
You can’t blame Davis.
He’s getting around twenty to thirty million bucks for a little more than forty five minutes work if he fights Paul to points/whatever.
It also makes the Lamont Roach vs Gervonta Davis rematch even bigger and the profile of the bout even bigger again for the two of them.
As well as bringing new fans to the sport, many of them.
Everyone wins.
Including Netflix and others in particular and most importantly, the entire sport of professional boxing.
The industry will continue to take off as a result.
