There has been some back and forth recently on social media directly between the two boxers themselves.
Although that is not always an inclination if a bout is going to do business or make sense.
Their teams often are engaged in talks behind the scenes.

That said, Lopez was recently more outspoken in issuing the challenge to Stevenson. He’s changed his tune a bit now on X a short time ago saying:
“What up gangsta (pen symbol), 140”
The pen signifying make a deal for the fight and the 140 representing one hundred and forty pounds which is the junior welterweight division.
Shakur Stevenson is also in talks at the moment for other fights such as Lamont Roach. There is a lot of talks in the division and around that weight class at the moment.
Shortly news will be confirmed. Curmel Moton is also in possible talks to fight Lamont Roach.
