Former middleweight champion of the world Andy Lee is now a trainer to former heavyweight champion of the world Joseph Parker of New Zealand.
The two are proving a potent combination in the sport as of late.
Parker continues to improve and knock people out cold.
Particularly lately.
Lee could punch himself as well of course and he’s taking to the training of fighters like a duck to water with Parker and others recently.
Andy Lee Reveals Joseph Parker vs Moses Itauma Sparring Stories
Speaking to BoxNation on the new phenom in the division, the young Moses Itauma, Lee lifted the lid on some sparring before he had with Parker:
“I saw him spar Joseph Parker here in Saudi when Joseph was fighting Zhang. Moses came out for a couple of weeks, and yeah, they had some great spars. Great spars. They were tough spars. Tough four rounds. They basically went to war for the four rounds Moses was in. It was like a war.”
Itauma has clearly benefited from those type of spars.
As has Parker as well in recent times.
Both are fighting very well at the moment and a proper fight between the two could be in order soon.
Parker is in talks at the moment for the Usyk fight.
Itauma knocked out Dillian Whyte in the first round this weekend.
