The heavyweight division is tied up by the undisputed champion Oleksandr Usyk at the moment who owns and controls all the belts in the division.
Usyk recently defeated Daniel Dubois by knockout in their rematch.
Speaking to Ring Magazine on a video call the UK’s Lawrence Okolie said of Usyk:
“Everyone’s waiting on Usyk, who’s beaten the top guys multiple times. The belts are tied up, so contenders might wait years for a shot. Splitting the belts would open things up for a future undisputed push.”
Okolie is a former cruiserweight moving up now to heavyweight.
A new contender in the division.
Don’t forget, Okolie is a former two weight world champion himself at cruiserweight and the WBC bridgerweight title for a time as well.
