Mario Barrios is preparing full blast in his upcoming title defense against an older boxing legend but a boxing legend nonetheless.
Pacquiao is 46 years young and steps into the ring on Saturday night with a 30 year old world champion in Barrios.
Barrios is not overlooking him though.
Barrios On Pacquiao Expectations
Speaking to Ariel Helwani earlier WBC welterweight champion Mario Barrios said:
“They’re saying he’s faster and rested. So we have been preparing as if we’re fighting, not necessarily a prime Pacquiao, but a Pacquiao from within the last 10 years.”
If Pacquiao is even able to muster up a bit of the old ‘Pacman’ — he’ll be more than dangerous.
He’s got the fight IQ and intelligence to be able to out box a lot of fighters at welterweight or above still.
Sure, Pacquiao is an underdog, but don’t write him off.
Particularly with a possible Mayweather pay day there for Pacquiao as well if he wins.
