Shakur Stevenson had the biggest victory of his boxing career tonight in Queens New York and put on a clinic at times of boxing.
Boxing is the art of hitting and not getting hit, and being exciting and doing so, to sell tickets — that’s professional boxing — the hurt business — the beating people up business.
Stevenson does that very well and showed he could fight in the trenches, off the ropes, on the back foot, under pressure tonight against previously unbeaten William Zepeda:
Good high guard, tight guard, could get better though, blocked and parried many shots tonight.
Showed iron chin when needed, his accuracy though with the counters above there when inside fighting was quite excellent.
He won the bout by UD on points and gave Zepeda of Mexico the first defeat of his entire professional boxing career.
