Late on Thursday night it was confirmed that former world middleweight champion Julio Caesar Chavez Jr was arrested.
By the ICE department of Homeland Security in the US for allegedly being a member of a cartel and reportedly looking at being deported back to Mexico at the moment.
Nothing concrete has come on the latter part yet.
His boxing legend father Chavez senior has said the following on social media along with the Chavez family:
“In these difficult moments, we reiterate our unconditional support for Julio. We fully trust his innocence and humanity, as well as the justice institutions in both Mexico and the United States. We respectfully ask that premature trials that violate his dignity be avoided. We pray for a prompt resolution”
No evidence has been brought against Chavez Jr yet. Important to note it is an alleged claim being made.
Chavez Jr recently fought Jake Paul in a ten rounds professional boxing exhibition.
