The cruiserweight division is really alive now all of a sudden in world boxing and Jai Opetaia and Gilberto Ramirez are the two men at the top of it.
Unified champion Gilberto ‘Zurdo’ Ramirez of Mexico won last night on points on the Jake Paul vs Chavez Jr undercard.
Not his best win but he got the job done.
After the fight he called off the other champion in the division, danger man from Australia Jai Opetaia to a mega unification bout at cruiser.
Maybe a bigger fight hasn’t happened since the days of Usyk, Tony Bellew and David Haye vs Enzo Maccarinelli before that.
Jai Opetaia responded straight away on Instagram to the call out by saying:
Very direct and up front.
If wants the fight he knows where to go now.
No issue on the Australia side.
Jai Opetaia will be a favorite maybe in the fight as a man on fire at the moment smashing up the division at present.
Ramirez needs to pick up the level of training a lot if he takes him on.
