Julio Caesar Chavez Jr has taken stock the day after his defeat last night on points to Jake Paul live on DAZN in the United States.
The main event wasn’t great but the card had some great action.
Not least Floyd Schofield and Holly Holm’s fights.
Chavez Jr hadn’t boxed in years and went straight into a professional cruiserweight bout with Jake Paul without any tune up bouts.
Speaking to Fight Hub a short time ago the day after the fight Chavez Jr vowed to fight on:
“No, no, I don’t think I’m going to retire because, in the end, this is my first real good fight in maybe four years. That’s motivating me. You still have 10 rounds close hard in this fight. I know it’s not an elite performance, but it’s a good start, and I want to continue training like this but stay active.”
After the fight Jake Paul batted back pre-fight steroids, PEDS and doping allegations.
It will be interesting to see what division Chavez Jr looks to go in at next time if he is boxing on.
He was a middleweight champion of the world years ago but likely light-heavyweight will be as low as he will go.
Potentially light-heavyweight would be a good weight for him, cruiserweight too much a step up, could be right, could be wrong.
Let’s see what happens.
