Former WBC heavyweight champion of the world Deontay Wilder made his return to boxing a short time ago in the unusual location of Kansas.
Kansas not typically getting big professional boxing events or even big professional sporting events that much.
Wilder showed up this week however giving a boost to Kansas, obviously.
Coming into the fight Deontay Wilder had prepared well – and early on it showed.
Deontay Wilder won the first round for most people, a comfortable round behind the jab for Wilder with some left hands that landed.
It was all Wilder in rounds 2, 3 and 4 and the left hand worked well for Wilder, he dropped Herndon in round 2 as well.
He went on to close the show did Wilder here by stoppage in round 7.
Boxing World Reacts To Emphatic Deontay Wilder Comeback Win
Here’s the reaction from the boxing world thus far:

Mostly people are impressed with him.
The opponent may not have been a world beater but he was very tough to stay in there as long as he did with that punching power coming his way.
Wilder had not boxed in ages and had two brutal surgeries before this.
As well as a last minute change of trainer only on the week of the fight.
Consider all that, he did well tonight.
His timing and speed will be much better next time, as well.
Here’s the counter check left hook knockdown from Deontay Wilder in round 2 as well – what a move in boxing.
Quality shot.
