Teddy Atlas Prediction On Deontay Wilder vs Tyrrell Herndon

After some time away from boxing.

Speaking on his show and podcast Atlas said of Deontay Wilder’s comeback fight on Friday night in Kansas:

“This won’t take long. Tyrrell Herndon, 37, is a safe pick to rebuild Wilder’s confidence after devastating losses at 39. Aggressive fighters like Efe Ajagba and Richard Torrez knocked him (Herndon) out early, but Wilder, less confident now, may take time to find his rhythm. I predict a two-to three-round knockout (for Wilder)—longer than Herndon’s past quick losses—allowing Wilder to regain his sea legs. Anything could happen, but this is a calculated step (by Wilder).”

Wilder has been going through brutal physical rehab and surgery away from boxing for so much time off at the highest level.

He’s back on Friday but anything can happen in heavyweight boxing.
