Canelo On Why Its Not Always About Punching Power

Canelo Alvarez can hit there is no doubt about that but he’s much more than just a knockout guy, he is a gifted boxer in all realms.

In all aspects of the fight game.

He is continually looking to improve but last time out against William Scull, maybe it wasn’t his best night.

Same can be said for Terence Crawford as well.

Both will want to prove a point to themselves only in the big fight on September 13th.

Canelo On Why It’s Not Always About Punching Power

Speaking to Mike Coppinger of Ring Magazine Alvarez said ahead of the fight:

“Sometimes it’s not just about power; it’s about boxing IQ. I always say I’m the smaller fighter every time, but it’s about confidence and boxing IQ. I have everything.”

He’s right and also precision is more important than power.

Which both of these boxers often avail of in their punch selection in their fights.

Speed, precision, timing and power combined makes a lethal fighter.

September 13th can’t come fast enough for boxing fans.
