Canelo On How His Reach Can Actually Be A Disadvantage Against Crawford

The big thing in the super fight between Canelo Alvarez and Terence Crawford on September 13th is the weight difference between the two.

Alvarez will be much naturally the bigger fighter with the contest being at super-middleweight (168 pounds), a place Crawford has never been in.

But Alvarez also will have a reach advantage too.

Speaking to Piers Morgan Canelo said why this is not always necessarily an advantage as some fight fans think it is:

“I don’t know. I’m not a one-punch knockout fighter. I set up my punches with combinations. My reach is longer, which can be an advantage to keep him at bay, but it depends on the fight. Terence is good at slipping shots and fighting mid-range, so it could also be a disadvantage.”

Terence Crawford is a genius at distance control, that is one of his big assets as a fighter.

Canelo no slouch in that department as well of course.

Crawford likes to rise to the occasion in unchartered waters.

What a brilliant fight we have here.
