Weight is a big topic in the upcoming Terence Crawford vs Canelo Alvarez super fight in Las Vegas obviously.
It is a big factor with Alvarez being much bigger at super-middleweight on September 13th in Vegas obviously.
That said, Crawford believes it will help him not having to cut weight.
Terence Crawford Opens Up On Weight Cuts Ahead Of Canelo Fight
Speaking to the Ring Magazine earlier Crawford said:
“That’s because I, like I said, I wasn’t cutting muscle to make 135 and 140. I was cutting muscle; I wasn’t supposed to be at 135, you know, um, that’s why I wasn’t at 140 that long because I was at 135 for too long, you know. But I think being that I don’t have to cut any muscle, I don’t have to cut a lot of weight, and you know, I can just focus on, you know, the things that I need to focus on in the gym, I think that’s going to, you know, make me a better fighter.”
Alvarez is smart and knows weight is not everything, his ability to box and fight is as good as Crawford’s.
If Alvarez can use the weight and size to his advantage, obviously he will though.
What a fight between Alvarez and Crawford awaits the planet.
