Manny Pacquiao came from the poorest background imaginable starting out in life in the Philippines but he proved it is not where you start out that matters.
Pacquiao fought his way up through the ranks and went on to become an eight-division world champion.
Now a hall of famer in the sport.
Pacquiao Reveals How Much He Got Paid For The First Time In Boxing
Speaking to George Janko, Pacquiao revealed his first pay check:
“I remember the first time I got paid—1,000 pesos, about $20—from a boxing check. We were able to buy food, rice, and notebooks for my siblings. I knew it was going to be a big deal when I became a world champion and realized I could help my family. Before that, we experienced days with no food, just drinking water to survive. I remember my 5-year-old brother crying from hunger at 1:30 in the afternoon because we had no money. My mom’s tears broke my heart, and I felt so sad.”
It is not where you were born or started out that counts out for anything, as Pacquiao showed.
It is where you finish in life, is all the counts.
The race to heaven is a journey of ups and downs for those on their way home to heaven.
Heaven and hell are the only two places humans can go, ultimately, no where else.
That is the truth, way more in heaven than hell though by some amount too.
It is up to you where you go. That choice is yours.
Manny Pacquiao is well along his way in his journey in professional sport and life at the moment.
His next chapter comes on July 19th against Mario Barrios when he challenges for the WBC welterweight championship of the world at the age of 46.
