Carl Froch Lands The Big Canelo Interview And Brings Up Wembley George Groves Fight

He managed to land the Canelo Alvarez interview in a sit down with Canelo and he in classic Froch fashion said to Alvarez:

“Carl Froch: You’re fighting in another stadium, this time in Vegas. I was at the AT&T in Dallas when you fought Billy Joe Saunders. Are you looking forward to another stadium fight? I boxed in stadiums too. Do you know how many people will be there? It’s like 90-something. How many were there when I boxed George Groves?

Canelo Alvarez: About 80,000, 85,000—it’s a lot of people. I’m looking forward to a big crowd, maybe 70 or 71, not quite 80, but a good one.”

Vintage Froch and good from Alvarez to indulge him for a moment even, a class act Alvarez.

But on a serious note, the interview went well, Froch kept his composure as he usually does.

That Rob McCracken training from the early days is still with him in some parts.

Alvarez has beaten many fighters from the UK over the years including the likes of Amir Khan, Liam Smith, Callum Smith and Billy Joe Saunders.

Froch asked him who was the toughest to which Alvarez replied:

“I don’t know—it was so easy. Nobody stands out. It was too easy, really. They’re good fighters, but I make it look easy.”

Froch went on to ask him who he thought the best pound for pound boxer in the world is right now to which Alvarez said:

“There are a lot of good fighters. It’s disrespectful to name just one. Usyk, Gervonta Davis, and others are really good. I’m there too, but I won’t mention myself. I like Davis’s style—he’s good to watch.”

Gervonta Davis is back soon against Lamont Roach with the rematch set to be officially confirmed quite soon.

Alvarez takes on Terence Crawford next up in the super fight on September 13th in Las Vegas.
