Respected boxing trainer in the UK Adam Booth has trained former world heavyweight champion David Haye and many more.
Including former world middleweight champion Andy Lee.
Booth knows his stuff on sports science and weight cutting for fighters obviously.
UK boxing star Chris Eubank Jr recently had a sellout blockbuster stadium win over rival Conor Benn but afterwards he got in a spot of hot water.
The British Boxing Board of Control fined him for using a sauna to do the weight, but this thing happens regularly in boxing it is understood (and in UFC).
Adam Booth Reacts To Chris Eubank Jr Weight Cut Possible Fine and Points To Something Conor McGregor Did
Speaking on Talk Sport earlier boxing trainer Adam Booth in the UK said of the weight cut situation from Eubank Jr:
“Yes (it has gone on in boxing forever), and now he has to explain himself or perhaps do some explaining to avoid being fined again. He posted publicly about what a high percentage of fighters and coaches have done for decades—standard practice not just in boxing but also in UFC. Look at the Conor McGregor documentary, and you’ll see how he made weight—that was the most brutal weight-cutting I’ve ever witnessed, followed by his rehydration process.”
Booth as well mentioned the British Boxing Board of Control might be covering themselves a little bit too with the whole thing.
In terms of a bit of self-preservation from the Board, with respect.
It appears Eubank Jr may be fined but that is not confirmed yet, it seems a bit excessive given the fact he had to pay a fine for the egg incident.
Eubank Jr helped the UK, professional sport in the UK, and the Board as well, with his massive fight recently with the numbers it did.
And the fighting both boxers did in the contest, crucially.
The least they could do is cut Eubank Jr a little slack here if common sense prevails, we’re sure it will.
Eubank Jr has already paid for the egging incident before the fight.
No need for any more.
Eubank Jr vs Conor Benn 2 will be even bigger again in terms of an event after a quite brilliant first fight.
