Lennox Lewis Reacts To The Death Of Mike “The Body Snatcher” Mccallum

Recently boxing lost once of its great and favorite fighting sons in Mike The Body Snatcher McCallum which those new to boxing may not know.

McCallum fell ill recently and passed away at the age of 68.

He was the first Jamaican born world champion in professional boxing history, he was a three-weight world champion between super-welterweight all the way up to light-heavyweight in the 80s and 90s.

Former heavyweight champion of the world Lennox Lewis said of his passing:

“I was deeply saddened to hear the news of the recent passing of Mike “The Body Snatcher” McCallum in Las Vegas. Our boxing fraternity has lost another good man and great champion. Mike became the first ever world champion from Jamaica when he beat Sean Mannion for the WBA Junior Welterweight Championship. He also represents exactly what we are trying to achieve with the @locf_org Boxing Camps in Jamaica. Rest in power King! You will be missed.”

Well said, rest easy and rest in peace McCallum.

Cause of death is unknown for Mike McCallum other than he suddenly fill ill while driving on his way to the gym in Vegas.
