Carl Froch Is Spot On About His Legacy Vs Anthony Joshua

Look, pound for pound and boxing legacies are all subjective really and don’t count for much of course, but Carl Froch is right here.

Froch the former world champion at super-middleweight from the UK years ago got the big stadium shows going again in the UK and Europe outside of Germany.

People forget though, to Froch as well it should be said, the Klitschko brothers in Germany got the stadium shows going before him even in Germany.

Before Froch and George Groves sold out Wembley.

Speaking on his podcast, as Boxing Kingdom on the X app notes, Froch said to former heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua of the UK:

“Anthony Joshua has been great for the sport of boxing. He’s brought in a whole new audience. The armchair fans like boxing now, due to AJ. But let’s not forget he followed on with the stadium fights, after I led the way”

Froch is right of course.

But both the Klitschko brothers got the stadium shows going again post world war II in Europe, in their big fights in Germany.

The Germans know it, so do the Ukrainians, Russians and most of Europe.

Tom Loeffler the boxing promoter in America would say the same thing too, Klitschko brothers are very unsung heroes in that regard.

But the UK to their credit took things to the next level with Froch vs Groves, then all Joshua’s big fights, and more that have followed since.
