42-Year-Old Nonito Donaire Plan'S In Boxing After Comeback Win Might Surprise Some

Nonito Donaire the former fighter of the year and four-weight world champion shocked many a bit by coming back to boxing at the weekend.

It was successful too as he had to go all the way to Argentina to get the WBA interim title at bantamweight for the ‘Filipino Flash’.

A tough fight that saw him win a unanimous technical decision after a collision of heads in the contest.

Speaking in the ring after the fight Donaire said:

“This is going to be a very long chapter of my career. I am looking forward to staying here for a very long time.”

He went on to say:

“It’s refreshing to have a clear mind and a desire to fight again. I am here for that. I just need to keep working, stay busy in that ring and keep getting comfortable in there.”

So Donaire is unlike Pacquiao (on July 19th), not just coming back for one fight, he’s here to stay a while.

A little surprising but if Nonito Donaire believes he can still fight at that level, which he has shown he can, why not.

Good fighter with a fan-friendly aggressive style. People will pay to watch him fight.

At the end of the day that’s what professional boxing is about – and hitting and not getting hit.
