Roy Jones Jr Is Angry With Boxers Of Today

Boxing legend Roy Jones is one only two men in history to win the world middleweight title and a world heavyweight title.

The other being Bob Fitzsimmons of the UK.

Jones is also an accomplished analyst, commentator and sometimes trainer and adviser to professional fighters, as well as some promotion of boxing.

Roy Jones Jr Is Angry With Boxers Of Today

Speaking passionately recently at the 2025 Boxing Hall of Fame, Jones said on boxing and fighters of today:

“Boxing is a hell of a sport. Like Jim said, it’s one of the most educational things you’ll ever do. My heart goes out to all these guys up here because all these guys, they give you something. Everybody has something different that they give to you all, and we all gave y’all the best at what we gave because we love you guys, and we want you to appreciate us. To matter of fact, today’s fighters, to me, they don’t appreciate you guys enough because when they’re in that ring, they don’t give y’all enough. You understand me? I gave y’all everything—yeah, I gave y’all everything. So, y’all just remember, and I ain’t the only one. I ain’t the only one because these guys wouldn’t be up here if they didn’t give y’all everything—they gave y’all everything too. Matter of fact, I think Micky Ward gave y’all some of somebody else’s because he gave y’all a lot. You understand me?”

Roy Jones definitely left it all in the ring every time he went in there but some of his early days still to this day were unmatched.

He was almost like a Prince Naseem Hamed of middleweight and above that too in weight, at times.

His movement and reflexes to get out of the way of punches and deliver knockout punches from unorthodox angles, was devastating to those that got in the way.

The 2025 Boxing Hall of Fame went down brilliantly as usual as it always does every year, respect to the organizers for continuing such a great job with it.
