Roy Jones Reacts To Pacquiao's Legendary Hall Of Fame Speech

Roy Jones Jr has given his thoughts on the Manny Pacquiao acceptance speech at the 2025 Boxing Hall of Fame, after many have commented on it.

It wasn’t long ago Pacquiao didn’t speak a word of English when he first came to America.

Now he’s an eight division world champion fighting for the world title again at the age of 46 soon.

Boxing legend Roy Jones said of Pacquiao’s speech at the weekend getting inducted into the hall of fame at only 46 and still an active fighter:

“I called the entire career of Manny Pacquiao in America. When he was speaking tonight and making a majestic speech, I was remembering the kid I met in a fighter meeting room in 2001, who barely put two words of English together. There’s only one sport in the world that could have done for a person over 24 years what boxing did for Manny Pacquiao. There was only one athlete in the world who could have done for boxing over those 24 years what Pacquiao did for us. He is an astonishing human being, and I feel very privileged to have known him all the way through his entire career.”

Pacquiao has now made it into the Hall of Fame, something very, very few in the sport’s history ever do.

Pacquiao once again will attempt to make the impossible possible on July 19th.

He takes on Mario Barrios for the WBC welterweight title in Las Vegas.
