Tonight eight-weight division world champion Manny Pacquiao will be inducted into the 2025 International Boxing Hall of Fame.
He’s in New York amid a day or two off from training camp for his upcoming fight with Mario Barrios where he challenges for the WBC welterweight title (July 19th).
Pacquiao Speaks On The Marquez Knockout
Speaking to Rick Reeno of the Ring Magazine in a sit down earlier, Pacquiao spoke on the heavy knockout defeat he suffered to Mexican Juan Manuel Marquez in his career:
“Juan Manuel Márquez was a good fight, but I can’t say he was my most difficult opponent. He’s a counterpuncher, but it wasn’t a tough matchup. The last fight just happened the way it did—that’s part of boxing. I was about to finish him, but he caught me with one punch. It’s okay.”
Pacquiao – always candid and magnanimous in defeat or victory.
At the pre-ceremony Pacquiao gave a powerful speech here this weekend too.
He’s won a lot more than he’s lost course, a true winner in all aspects in professional boxing and life.
He was born a winner and he’ll die a winner in life.
As for the Barrios fight on July 19th, time will tell, well done on the Hall of Fame Induction to Pacquiao.
