Terence ‘Bud’ Crawford is thought to be one of the best boxers in the sport of boxing at this particular time, pound for pound that is.
He takes on Canelo Alvarez in a super fight in September that sees him move way up in weight and a large outsider in the bout.
Many think the jab is the most important punch in boxing. Speaking to the HitFit YouTube channel, Crawford opened up on the jab:
“Well, you know, you can set your jab up in many ways. You can move your jab all the way around. You want to touch the shoulders, the hands, the body, the face, you know what I mean? The chest, in case your opponent is moving a lot, you want to aim at his chest just to set up any other punch. You want to feint off the jab. So, if I’m hitting you with a jab and you constantly do this, you know, I’ll feint, feint, feint jab—you feint, you know what I mean—get you used to doing this, and then out of the blue, feint the jab, throw the hook, right hand, or something like that.”
Crawford still giving back with his time and knowledge on the sport technically, even though he doesn’t have, always good to see from fighters.
Floyd Mayweather did something years ago with James Smith from ‘In This Corner’ in Las Vegas.
Crawford is one of the best technical fighters in the game right now and many believe he is in a great mind space at the moment.
