Carl Froch Gives His Take On Heavyweight Dubbed The New Mike Tyson

A certain UK young heavyweight is shaking up the division and the boxing world lately with brutal knockouts of grown men and good fighters everywhere.

That’s Moses Itauma of course, some calling him the next Mike Tyson.

Speaking on his show ‘Froch on Fighting’ with his wife Rachel, this week former world champion Carl Froch touched on the new UK heavyweight standout rising star Moses Itauma:

“There’s been a lot of hype around Moses Itauma, but how would he fare against the likes of Usyk or AJ? Moses Itauma is a top fighter. If you haven’t seen him, he’s 20 years old. He hoped to be the youngest heavyweight champ before Mike Tyson, who did it at 19, so he’s missed that mark. But he’s a big puncher with an extremely high boxing IQ. He’s confident, a big Naseem Hamed fan like myself, and enters the ring with that confidence, backed by natural skill and ability. He was a top amateur.”

Whether or not heavyweight Moses Itauma fights for a world title soon remains to be seen.

He won’t beat Tyson’s record of youngest heavyweight champion in history but he may get close.

The division is stacked at the moment as well though, Itauma certainly has great potential but caution must be advised for a kid so young.

That said, he’s knocking out grown men and good fighters every time he fights.

Enough said.
