Promoter Reveals Why Lomachenko Retired

This week the great Lomachenko retired from boxing at the age of 37 but nobody really knows why just yet, well, not really at least.

His last win was a big one over a former world champion and young lion in George Kambosos Jr too, so many thought he had lots to fight on for.

He battered and knocked out Kambosos and decided to go out on top and retired untouchable in the sport of boxing, a legend of the fight game.

One of the greatest men that ever fought in boxing in the last twenty or thirty years.

Promoter Reveals Why Lomachenko Retired

His former promoter Bob Arum told Fight Hub on why he called it a day:

“Well, you know, Lomachenko is a real athlete, a no-nonsense athlete. His back gave out on him, and they tried to fix it, but they couldn’t. So he decided to retire because, unless he could perform at the best of Lomachenko, he wasn’t interested in continuing his career. I respect that. I respect him and his father. I wish all fighters were like Vasiliy.”

There you have it, who knew he had such a crippling back injury all along.

Good for him and he got out at the right time and left at the pinnacle.

Very few men in the sport’s history who reach the highest level of professional boxing do.

Boxing fans worldwide will miss him, certainly.

Best of luck to whatever is next which of course will be successful.
