Joe Calzaghe vs Carl Froch is one of those fights that boxing fans would have loved to have seen but alas it never happened unfortunately.
It was one of the great fights that never happened – both were at different points of their careers when it was discussed.
Former cruiserweight world champion Tony Bellew of the UK knows both well.
Per Boxing Kingdom on the X app, originally via the Sporting Talk channel, Bellew believes:
“Carl Froch is my mate, but he wouldn’t beat Joe Calzaghe. But in saying that, Joe isn’t stopping Carl either. Joe would rattle punches off all night (UD win).”
He was speaking about a prime Calzaghe vs a prime Froch.
It turns out Froch and Calzaghe were apparently offered the fight only very recently for both of them to come out of retirement for.
It didn’t happen but never say never.
If the price is right, it can happen. That said, Calzaghe seems content in retirement away from boxing and so does Froch.
Froch has a very popular podcast and YouTube channel now which is doing well.
