David ‘The Monster’ Benavidez knows all about world championship boxing being near the top of the food chain at light-heavyweight at present.
He is now a fully fledged world champion at 175 pounds after recently beating David Morrell.
The super fight between Canelo Alvarez and Terence Crawford this September has got the world talking, Benavidez urges caution on the side of writing Crawford off completely.
Speaking on the ‘Pound 4 Pound with Kamru and Henry’ show, Benavidez said:
“Crawford, I mean, that’s what type of dog (a fight like the Canelo fight) you see what they are? You know what I mean? I think Terence Crawford when he went up against the best opposition like Errol Spence, he showed what kind of f****** level he was on, what type of dog he is.”
You know, that’s a good point by Benavidez.
Not many are mentioning that Crawford fights to the level of opponent and test in his way.
He did the same against Kell Brook and in other fights.
Some have mentioned he did not look great when he moved up in weight before and while that’s true, this is a much more motivating challenge for him.
