Teddy Atlas Reacts To Uk Heavyweight Dubbed The New Mike Tyson

Commentator and trainer Teddy Atlas knows boxing as well as anyone and gives his thoughts on a new prospect on the verge of a world title.

Often times it happens where fighters can be a little over hyped and rushed along in their development, particularly in their younger days.

But Moses Itauma of the UK is absolutely ready for big things and a big fight.

Despite being only 20 years old.

Teddy Atlas speaking on his show ‘The Fight with Teddy Atlas’ said of Itauma, dubbed by some as the new Mike Tyson:

“He’s pretty tricky, Itauma. He’ll punch low, I saw what he does. He’ll throw something low, and then he’ll go high. He’ll set it up low, he’ll go high. He can punch with either hand—left hand as a southpaw’s backhand or the right hook, either one. And he sets up that counter hook, he sets traps, I just talked about that. So he’s showing cleverness. But get him a guy that’ll make him show even more creativity to land a shot. And it ain’t the worst thing in the world if you get him a guy that threatens to go the distance. You want that because you want him to learn. Get him a guy that he can’t hit on the potato, that he’s going to have to outbox or outwork, and show those qualities because he’s going to need those qualities.”

Good analysis from Atlas, he needs to be stepped up now in his next bout.

The thing is, the heavyweight division is extremely competitive at the moment and he’s going in the deep end but likely that will suit him down to the ground.

This Itauma has a level head and has impressed with huge knockouts so far.

Even if he loses he is so young he can come back no issues.
