Unfortunately boxing has been hit by some concerning news again regarding the health of one of its brave warriors in an accident in the ring.
Boxing, specifically professional boxing this year has seen some tragic bits of news regarding the death of professional fighters.
Ginjiro Shigeoka a Japanese fighter who lost a bout at the weekend to Pedro Taduran had to be stretchered out of the arena.
It is now being widely reported in multiple places that he has now undergone emergency brain surgery at this point.
The WBA on the X app have reported:
“Our thoughts are with Ginjiro Shigeoka, who remains hospitalized and unconscious after suffering an acute subdural hematoma following his bout against Pedro Taduran. The WBA sends strength and support to Ginjiro, his family, and team during this difficult time.”
It is understood he underwent brain surgery to remove part of the skull effected.
