Shakur Stevenson the pound for pound boxing star and world champion kept it real here on upcoming unbeaten danger man and opponent Zepeda.
He knows he is in for a tough fight next up but he is a man who rises to the occasion.
Speaking to Mike Coppinger of Ring Magazine in a sit down, Stevenson said of Zepeda’s fight with Tevin Farmer and more:
“I can’t really give you the game plan. I saw that Tevin Farmer is a tough fighter for anybody. You saw him with Raymond Muratalla, and Muratalla is actually a good fighter, too. You can’t just judge Zepeda off Tevin Farmer and say, “Oh, he’s not that good because he lost.” Farmer is slick, witty, and looked like he was in tremendous shape for the fight. You’ve got to give Tevin Farmer that much credit. As for the game plan, I can’t tell you. I’ll show you on fight night. I’m the better fighter that night, and everybody will see.”
A thing that must be said is Stevenson is pragmatic and always speaks his mind.
His fight next up with Zepeda takes place on July 12th in New York.
So many big fights in boxing this month, next and July — it is all happening now for boxing — it really is.
