Boxing legend Manny ‘Pacman’ Pacquiao is back in the boxing ring shortly and has reacted at length here to coming up short in his Senator bid.
Not to be for Pacquiao this time but at 46 he’s still young in the big picture for all that stuff anyway.
Speaking a short time ago on his official social media channels, Manny Pacquiao said (translation to English):
“From the bottom of my heart, thank you so much. I may not have succeeded in running for Senate, I am deeply grateful for every vote, prayer, and support. My heart will always be in town. And my dream for the nation that will uplift every Filipino family will not change. My heartfelt congratulations also to all the winners. May your service to our nation be honest, humane, and meaningful. To all who voted and believed, thank you for your love. To all those who didn’t vote for me, thank you anyway because you are also part of the process that strengthens our democracy. The fight continues. The service continues. For God sake. For the nation. For every Filipino.”
Class act as always by Pacquiao. The tremendous scenes throughout the country in the last few weeks with an outpouring of support from people for Pacquiao spoke for itself.
The people’s champ, still, still the King of the Philippines clearly.
Now though, it is boxing time for Pacquiao.
Whmo returns on July 19th against Mario Barrios to challenge at 46 for the WBC welterweight championship of the world.
Most likely at some point tomorrow on Friday, he will begin his formal proper training camp for the contest, most likely.
