Terence Crawford the pound for pound King of boxing for some returns to action soon but ‘Bud’ is always looking at the big picture in all of sport.
Crawford isn’t just an all-time boxing great in the making, is an all time great in professional sport in the making.
He takes to professional sport easily, that said, he’s up against it against Canelo Alvarez next up in September going up so much weight.
Speaking to Ring Magazine, Crawford even spoke about fighting one Conor McGregor:
“I’d do good, you know what I mean? The only thing is them kicks, because the kicks… I’ve got people that I’m cool with, friends with, trained with, that are MMA and were in the UFC. And some of them kicks, man, you don’t see them because you think they’re about to punch you, and boom, they kick you. They throw the punch, and then the kick’s behind it. Or they fake punch you, and you’re like this, and he kicks. It’s different. You just can’t go like this with no… especially not with 4-ounce gloves. Talking about answering the phone might disconnect you, you know, like, facts, lights off. So, it’s just getting used to the kicks and the elbows and the jiu-jitsu things like that. I’ve seen wrestlers get choked out by people that, you know, it’s just… someone said it’s the most difficult chess game with the most dire consequences because there are just so many ways to lose.”
Obviously that fight won’t happen but interesting that he is so well read up on MMA and UFC.
That is important, as the guy promoting Crawford’s next fight, the super fight with Canelo Alvarez in September, is none other than UFC boss Dana White.
UFC and boxing continue to get closer than ever before as sports.
Time will tell if McGregor has one more professional boxing match.
Most likely he will.
