Canelo Coach On Cuban School Of Boxing Ahead Of Scull Challenge

Eddy Reynoso has been with Canelo since the early days in Mexico and knows the inherent danger of the Cuban school of boxing they are against.

Cuban fighters are hit and miss but when on form they are good boxers and dangerous, as Alvarez opponent William Scull will be on Saturday.

Speaking at the final press conference before the fight, Alvarez’ coach Eddy Reynoso said:

“The Cuban boxing school is one of the best—it’s produced wonderful champions and trainers. But on Saturday, we need to impose the Mexican school on William Scull. He’s a great fighter and champion from a strong Cuban boxing background, but we have plans, and we’re coming to win. It’ll be a step up for Canelo after this fight.”

Correct. This is not an easy fight at all for Alvarez on Saturday.

He’s struggled with Cubans and styles similar to Scull previously and gives away a lot in size in this fight.

Alvarez and Reynoso know this of course. Important for boxing fans to be aware of the challenge and not look to far ahead to the Terence Crawford fight.

That can only happen if Alvarez beats Scull on Saturday, once again.
