Jaime Munguia In Classic Form Ahead Of Bruno Surace Rematch

Frenchman Bruno Surace’s knockout of Mexican Jaime Munguia in 2024 may have been the biggest upset in boxing of the whole year.

His opportunity for sweet revenge is this weekend in Saudi Arabia in an immediate rematch on the Canelo vs Scull card, this time around he’s got Eddy Reynoso in his corner as well (Canelo’s coach).

Speaking to Fight Hub TV, with the following as Spanish to English translation, Munguia said:

“Yes, absolutely. We’re going for the knockout again, and we’re going to put on a great fight for all the fans. Honestly, I feel so excited. This is a huge stage, a new challenge, and a chance to show the world what I’m made of. We’re thrilled to be here on May 5th, and it gives me so much energy.”

He then spoke English himself, saying:

“I’m really looking forward to it—I can’t wait to get in the ring and perform.”

Munguia is a fearless knockout artist from Mexico, clearly.

He may have lost but he’ll be looking to put only the second defeat of his pro career firmly behind him.

The other loss only to Canelo Alvarez on points — also last year.
