It is the week after now and Conor Benn has had time to take stock and properly reflect on last weekend’s defeat to Chris Eubank Jr.
A close battle that saw him drop a unanimous points decision to Chris Eubank Jr last weekend in a fight that gripped the planet and made it onto people’s favorite fight lists.
Speaking to Kugan Cassius of IFL TV a short time ago, Benn said:
“We’ve got a rematch clause, so we’ll see. I’m ready to fight again this weekend. If the rematch doesn’t happen, I’d love to fight Barrios for the WBC world title at 147. I’m flying to New York tomorrow to see Queen Ryan, who’s campaigning at 147 for the WBA title. If he wins, I’d happily fight him. Dropping to 147 might be tough, so I’d either do the rematch at 160 or stay at 147. It’s hard to accept he beat me without avenging it, but the rematch terms are agreed, so we’ll wait and see.”
Very candid as always from Conor Benn.
Options are plentiful for him, after all. The rematch is very possible as well this year.
His stock has increased and his value has gone way up again in the sport.
