Legendary boxing MC Michael Buffer was on hand after he announced the big Chris Eubank Jr vs Conor Benn fight to give his reaction after it.
It was a great fight and Eubank Jr got the nod by UD on points, getting many in the sport talking about the fight and boxing after.
That said, Buffer thought the scorecards were closer he mentioned to Boxing News afterwards:
“I thought it was a bit closer, but once Eubank got going—especially in the last two rounds—he really picked up the pace. Man, it was a great fight, real boxing, you know? And Conor Benn never took a step backward; it was amazing. He gave away what, 15, maybe 20 pounds by the end? I loved it. That final round—great night, very exciting.”
That’s a good point he makes there.
The amount of weight Benn would have been giving away would have been massive.
Despite that, it was Benn on the front foot mostly in the fight pressing the action.
Think about that.
Warriors and a credit to the entire sport.
