Carl Froch Brutally Honest On Chris Eubank Jr Vs Conor Benn

Carl Froch the former world champion is cut throat in his analysis of boxing these days and the Eubank Jr vs Conor Benn fight is no different here.

Froch believes the right man won in Eubank Jr and got the decision correctly, amid a lot of talk about the fight.

Froch, speaking on his podcast Froch on Fighting, also noted:

“But when the first bell rang, I think Conor Benn started too fast. He came out like a bull, slipping, sliding, feinting, bending his legs, ducking low, and throwing punches from all angles. Listen, both fighters—if you want to technically break it down, you could really rip it apart—but I just want to say this fight was what it was, level-wise. Conor Benn has only fought twice in two years, and the same goes for Chris Eubank Jr.—both have boxed just twice in two years. So, they’re both ring-rusty, out of practice. I know Eubank has over 30 fights, and Benn has around 23, but when you’re inactive, you’re not fight-ready. You’re not flowing; your timing, distance, everything is off. This fight was like that from the start.”

Ultimately a rematch is what people are calling for at the moment.

Whether it happens next up in September like some are suggesting remains to be seen.
