The Chris Eubank Jr vs Conor Benn fight got off to a quick start in boxing tonight and did not disappoint in action as most expected ahead of the fight.
The show got off to a big start in terms of the main event, Eubank senior joined the event and got people talking in arena and online instantly.
The styles simply clashed well as we and more or less everyone in boxing media expected.
Conor Benn had Eubank Jr on wobbly legs in the early rounds, a sign of the intensity of the fight to come.
Both fighters then ended up going down in the fight in a bizarre scene. An even enough few early rounds overall.
As the fight went on both boxers fought fire with fire, but for most, most had Conor Benn up on the cards from the mid rounds and a bit on.
Eubank had some okay moments but picked up a cut down the stretch and tired a bit, which, you’d expect after the crazy weight cut he had to go through.
The fight was close though and at the end — it went the duration and distance of twelve full rounds.
The scores came in as unanimous points winner Chris Eubank Jr on 116-112 on all 3 judges cards.
Many will disagree with that tonight though.
Surely a rematch is on the cards after this.
