Boxing legend Roy Jones predicts Conor Benn vs Chris Eubank Jr fight ahead of the massive stadium fight in the UK between the fighters.
Many big names have been chipping in their takes on the bout.
Roy Jones knows plenty about big fights of course as only one of two men in history to ever win the middleweight title and heavyweight title (Bob Fitzsimmons being the other).
Speaking on Talk Sport in the UK ahead of this weekend’s fight Jones said:
“It’s a tough fight for Conor. I’m not saying he can’t win. One big left hook could change everything. His best chance is to land a big shot. If he lands it and it doesn’t hurt Chris, it’ll be pretty rough for him because Chris is definitely an improved fighter. He’s going to keep getting better. When he trained with me for a year, it strengthened his foundation, making him a better fighter.”
He went on:
“He’s hard to beat, especially for a smaller guy. Liam Smith’s upset gave Conor hope he could do the same. Both are great fighters, and I love them both. Chris is bigger and has advantages because of his size, but it’ll be a great fight. People talk about Chris cutting weight and being tight at 160, but the 10-pound rehydration clause won’t affect him at all. I don’t think he rehydrates much anyway, so 10 pounds doesn’t bother him.”
Interesting prediction and analysis from Jones.
Look, it is prize fighting and if one bomb lands clean early anything can happen.
Expect the pace to be relentless in this though.
