Jaron Ennis really got that breakout win he needed this weekend in boxing and fans and those in boxing were impressed alike.
He stopped Lithuania’s first and only ever professional boxing world champion inside six rounds.
Speaking after the fight to reporters at the post-fight press conference Ennis said:
“That’s what you all were waiting for, and that’s what I was aiming for. You saw it first-hand. Right now I’m just enjoying my win. I’ll celebrate with my family cherish these IBF, WBA, and Ring Magazine titles and then sit down with my team to plan what’s next.”
He added:
“Like I said before, I don’t want to sound repetitive but when I fight top-tier guys you see a different side of me. In that ring I’m in my element. When I’m facing a top opponent and fighting for something big it’s a whole different story. No one can touch me. I feel great fighting in an iconic place like Boardwalk Hall. It’s a blessing.”
Great win and great night of boxing at an iconic venue in the Boardwalk at Atlantic City.
IBF welterweight world champion Jarron Ennis is now 34-0-30 KO and big fights are on the horizon.
