WBO and IBF world middleweight champion Janibek Alimkhanuly at the moment is flying very high but wants to go further now and be more aggressive.
Quite right, as he should, sign of a good fighter and champion no less.
Last weekend he blitzed his opponent inside the distance in hitman like knockout fashion.
Speaking on the fight after he said (translated to English) on social media:
“Our main goal is to magnify the dignity of the Kazakh nation, to raise the spirit! We will work on this road, and we will work hard, if it is possible!”
Is it more than possible. It is very achievable. With more big knockout wins in sell out arenas like last weekend in Kazakhstan the more it will happen — quickly too.
Right now it is happening.
Furthermore, the great middleweight champion Gennady ‘GGG’ Golovkin put Kazakhstan on the map years ago.
He is still doing it today of course as the Chairman of World Boxing and will lead amateur boxing at the 2028 Olympics in LA.
However Golovkin must communicate more with the official channels and interior ministry in Kazakhstan to have more promotion of big boxing events in the country.
This is absolutely crucial to continued growth in the region.
