Pound for pound rising star and world champion Shakur Stevenson has had to scramble at the last minute this week.
His opponent Floyd Schofield had to pull out actually on fight week itself this week ahead of the weekend due to illness.
Speaking to Fight Hub Stevenson acknowledged:
“I can’t be emotional and stuff about it just because of the fact that I already thought in my brain that this is what it was going to be like. I watched this kid, the, um, I seen him around fight week. Truthfully, when I was that age, I was a lot sharper, like mentally, and I was way better fighter. So I’m looking at him, I’m like, there’s no way, like, anybody in their right mind will allow him to fight me on fight night and all that. And, um, it just seemed like he was an unready kid. He wasn’t ready.”
The show goes on however.
Stevenson will still fight at the weekend it is understand as of the time of this article.
