Claressa Shields was hyped up at the final face off with Danielle Perkins ahead of their big boxing match tonight.
The women’s world heavyweight title and a fight that will be shown to the masses on DAZN for Shields.
Speaking in a media scrum with Fight Hype and others after the weigh-ins and final face off Shields said:
“You know what time it is? What are the next hours going to be like? I mean, my ******* drink, I’m the one who touches my drink 24 hours before a fight. What do the next 24 hours look like? I’ve got to hydrate, I’ve got to go eat, and get ready for the fight. Really, you said she knows what time it is? Is she talking all that stuff this week? Oh, she’s big, she’s strong, she’s too big for me? Well, we’re going to find out tomorrow. When do you think you’re going to get the knockout? What’s your prediction for that? Like, round and just, uh, finally, I mean, this is a crazy spectacle to bring out everybody in the city hall (today). What does it mean to you to fight in your hometown? You said you could shut things down or slow things down in 2021. What does this feel like for you? Uh, it feels crazy, to be honest. Like, I know I said the weigh-in was open to the public, but I did not expect all this. When they told me they would turn people away because no more could get in, I was like, “Yeah, right,” and then I get here and see you’ve just packed everybody in.”
Shields appears to be in a good mind frame for this fight tonight.
Many are expecting it to be war and with Perkins she is facing for the first time as a pro someone perceived by some to have advantages physically.
Shields has talked about fighting Jake Paul in the past, let’s see what happens tonight first up.
