Life time bans are so rare in the sport of boxing but when they happen there is usually good reason.
Michael Zerafa in Australia was awarded a TKO victory on Wednesday this week in Australia when his opponent Tommy Browne failed to come out to fight after the first round.
What ensued was a free for all in the ring and Zerafa’s brother and trainer received a lifetime ban for this punch:
Total chaos in the ring.
Here is the full fight and also the punch in slow motion again:
Zefara’s brother, the 26-year-old man — Jason-Manuel Zerafa who threw the punch at the 60-year-old opposition cornerman Tommy Mercuri — was banned for life after the fight by the promoters (No Limits Boxing) in Australia.
It is understood police were also called to the incident.
