Former unified champion Jose Ramirez is once more in contention for a title shot and back at world level.
He achieved this through a hard fought but in the end a unanimous points decision victory in Fresno, California over Rances Barthelemy.
The fight was at welterweight.
The options at 147 lbs. moving forward for Ramirez are plentiful to say the least.
Given the stacked nature of the division at present.
While it may not have been the best performance of Ramirez’ career he was in there with a very game Barthelemy.
At just 31 Ramirez’ comeback from his loss to Josh Taylor in 2021 continues and is coming along well.
Three wins on the spin now for Ramirez since that night.
