Double Guinness Record Holder takes on Women’s Boxing Trailblazer

The women’s world title fight between Amanda Serrano and Katie Taylor on April 30th has all the elements to make it both a huge event and an excellent fight.

Two women who in their own way have trail blazed over the years.

To the point where women’s boxing now has some genuine respect and credibility with rights holders and large event promoters.

As well in today’s most popular ‘new stream media’.

That space where eyeballs and audience is now wanted more by advertisers the world over.

Serrano is a Double Guinness World Record holder.

Being a three-combat sport world champion, nine-time world boxing champion and in seven weight divisions.

It’s insane how those accomplishments have not been talked about more over the years.

Katie Taylor of course a pioneer in women’s boxing in Ireland going from Olympic gold to professional world champion.

And a very good person.

The perfect melting pot of time seems to have passed to allow the fight to build into something that could give women’s boxing a further boost.

If the fight delivers, which it is hard to see how it won’t, you could see even more interest and money go into the sport from the relevant commercial players later in the year.

Potentially.
